Wind measurement with many years of experience
Wind Check Poelmann –
a reliable partner

Since early 2020, the wind measuring mast division of airwerk GmbH from Emstek has been transferred to Wind Check Poelmann. The experience from more than a decade and the know-how that has resulted from it enables us to deliver the maximum in quality.

We also offer the measurement campaign from the planning and development of new wind measuring masts to the finished handover to every location in the world. Our civil engineers and structural engineers implement every wind measuring mast, which is built by our construction managers with decades of experience.

Construction & dismantling

Thanks to our own crane technology, a quick and economical construction method is guaranteed. Construction heights of up to 140 meters can therefore be easily achieved.

Wind measuring masts for onshore wind measurements

The basis for successful wind energy projects
- Wind measuring masts up to 140m and higher
 (Planning up to 180m)
- Masts for the various ice and wind load combinations according to DIN / DiBT / IEC
- Design and wind measurements according to IEC 61400-12 and MEASNET

The basis for successful wind energy projects are reliable and precise measurement methods for the speed, direction and dynamics of the wind. They are a prerequisite for choosing the right locations for the plants, the right type of plant and economical operation. The trend in onshore wind energy is towards ever larger hub heights in order to tap the profitable potential here. Therefore, our current mast developments reach heights of 140m and more and cover all ice-wind load zone combinations in Germany and worldwide locations.

In the development and production of our masts, we cooperate with high-performance steelworkers and innovative structural engineers. Particular attention is paid to an economical yet powerful solution, i.e. we carry out measurements at great heights with little use of material and space.

Our mast concept usually takes into account
construction using the mast's own climbing crane system. Therefore, we generally do not need any ground area or path construction for cranes for the installation. Even remote locations can be "measured" with our system and the total costs of your measurement campaign remain low.

Our mast system consists of a triangular cross-section and three-sided bracing.

The advantages:
• Mountability simplifies the installation of sensors; Maintenance can be carried out quickly and economically
• narrow mast profile and standard measuring boom: little influence on the wind flow
• Easy assembly using a climbing crane: construction in wooded and mountainous areas is possible without any problems
• optimized guy lines to reduce the necessary lease area
• Inexpensive and simple foundation
• Procurement and calibration of the measuring technology according to MEASNET, professional configuration of the data logger for a qualified measurement according to IEC 61400
• Supervision of the measurement to ensure high data availability
• Accompanying the approval process, including submission of mast statics and technical drawings, creation of the foundation statics and concepts for day and night marking as an aviation obstacle according to NFL I 143/07
